According to We Got This Covered, X-MEN “Jean Grey” actress Famke Janssen flew out to Sydney last week to film a cameo for Hugh Jackman’s THE WOLVERINE. We cannot confirm the validity of this, and will post as a rumor for now.
I guess a vision of some kind. Like Bruce Wayne had of Ras Al Ghul in the Pit in “THE DARK KNIGHT RISES”.
Hits at the setting of the film: Defineatly AFTER “THE LAST STAND”.

No, this is not set after Last Stand, This movie is still set in the past, like the early 1980’s. Get your facts straight you idiots.

Contemporary setting. Period. Hey… it is still a sequel to ORIGINS. Since it takes place after it. X1 was also a sequel to ORIGINS.
I like the idea of having it set after THE LAST STAND.
Holy shit, please tell me this is true! Even though I think it would make more sense to throw Jean Grey into Days of Future Past, I’ll take Jean Grey in any way, shape, or form–some is better than none, methinks! I bet we’ll be seeing her on “TV”, addressing some mutant issue as she did in X-Men.

And here we go lads and gents… film is set AFTER “The Last Stand”. 🙂
Maybe, it is set after Last Stand, sounds like most of it occurs in Logan’s past, and then the last act of the story goes to the future.
It looks like this will be part of the plan to repair the X-Men Franchise after the damage that was done iwth it in X3. Although with so many trolls on the internet posing as journalists, it’s hard to get accurate movie news anymore.
Just check what the actors and director said (quoted on several websites).
It will be a stand alone film (means: You won’t need any inside knowlegde of the franchise, newbies will be able to enjoy it as much as day no.1 fans).
In the chronology the bulk of the action will be set after THE LAST STAND. It will start with a WW II sequence.
This means… if there is a plan to “fix” the movie timeline (eventhough I do not think it needs to be fixed, since LAST STAND rocked), THE WOLVERINE is “not” part of it… Remember: one-off, stand-alone… etc.
Everything is clear now.. We only need a teaser trailer to complete the excitement..

Since this rumors first came up. It has not been confirmed that she will be in the film.
