It was inevitable and should come as no huge surprise that longtime Wolverine actor, Hugh Jackman is in negotiations to return as the ‘ol canuck in Bryan Singer’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Wolverine has appeared in every X-film to date, and has a memorable role in the classic comic story arc of the same name, so there’s no reason why he shouldn’t join the party.
Just days ago Singer confirmed the return of alumni Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, along with “First Class” actors James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.
In a story that involves alternate timelines and (most likely) gigantic mutant-hunting robots known as the Sentinels, this is obviously going to be a quite ambitious film for the X-Men cinematic universe.
#DOFP isn’t out ’til July 18, 2014, but you can catch Logan battling the Silver Samurai next year in THE WOLVERINE, due July 26, 2013.

– January Jones as Emma Frost in X men first Class her acting was very BAD Bryan Singer must meet Charlize Theron to be an older Emma Frost in future and Charlize Theron is good for Emma Frost ! and change January Jones with Charlize Theron !
– Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, she isn’t going to join with brotherhood but she joins with Apocalypse Mr Sinister Exodus and Holocaust, Mystique must always bring guns like in comic book, and her mutation which can imitate everyone else can be back because the cure wasn’t permanently !
– Anna Paquin as Rogue, her power will be come back too and she will have to join with Gambit ( (Taylor Kitsch )
– ian Somerhalder is good for an older Havok, Angelina Jolie is good for Scarlet Witch, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler must come again and James Marsden must come back !
I think Anna will come back as Rogue, I do not think Alan Cummings will be Night Crawler again ( he hated the make-up). Taylor Kitch could return as Gambit. I think Live Schiber will be back as Sabretooth (he was better then Tyler Mane). Famke and James could return as Jean Grey and Scott Summers. No one cares about storm anymore unless they recast the part. It maybe a combination of familar and newer actors for the X-Men.
Dude, I totally disagree with you. Storm was a huge role in DOFP. Storm is the biggest female character in Marvel. So I have no idea what your talking about when you say no one cares about Storm. Storm is needed. Halle needs to return.

I can see Hugh back as Logan. It sounds like this movie is clearly ment to wipe out X3 from the movie continunity. More and more this sounds like X4.

I would prefere them to focus on the FIRST CLASS cast, and except for old Xavier, old Magneto and Wolverine, leave all other original characters out of it.
It is a 120 minute film, and having what… 20 main characters? You know this is undoable.
For some reason, your’e right.. Its just that there is this excitement and amazement if you see the whole old and new characters together in one film..
I’m guessing the original trilogy actors will have limited roles, save the one or two that go back in time. The “First Class” will likely get the bulk of screentime.

If done right, I think the X-Men movie universe will be as interesting as the Avengers movie universe is.
The potential is definitely there.
