Bryan Singer makes ‘Days of Future Past’ announcements a bit prematurely.

Bryan Singer kind of jumped the gun. Ian McKellen recently confirmed Patrick Stewart’s statement about not yet signing a contract for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. While discussions and verbal agreements may have taken place, nothing is “officially” set in stone.

“Yes, I’m delighted that Patrick Stewart and I seem to be welcomed back into the fold, but we haven’t seen the script, either of us, although Bryan tweeted that we’re going to do it.” said McKellen to Malone’s Movie Minute. The actor told MTV “I have to say, I haven’t signed a contract […] but when Bryan Singer calls, on the whole, I follow.”

Hugh Jackman previously confirmed being in discussions, while Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are already locked-in, thanks to their FIRST CLASS multi-picture deals with 20th Century Fox.

It will take a while before deals are in place for the original gang. Offers of interest are just now being sent out and the screenplay is still in development. Scheduling is likely to become a nightmare, so have patience until everything is worked out. Official announcements should be coming in due time!

Update: Original article contained a James Marsden and Halle Berry rumor that was misinterpreted from a posting on THR. No word if they will be involved or not.
