At one point, 20th Century Fox was considering making a solo film for Ellen Page’s Kitty Pryde. The info was revealed by director Jason Reitman, via /Film, during a 10-hour marathon podcast benefiting FilmAid.
“Jason Reitman revealed that at one point, 20th Century Fox talked to him about possibly directing a Kitty Pride X-Men standalone movie, starring Ellen Page and written by Diablo Cody. The three combined to make the Oscar-winning film Juno, and Reitman also directed another Cody script, Young Adult. And while Retiman’s X-film obviously didn’t happen, Page will return in the role for X-Men: Days of Future Past.”
This goes to show that producers and the studio are looking at all characters for potential future films. In 2004, Fox hired Sheldon Turner to pen a script for X-MEN ORIGINS: MAGNETO. While the screenplay was completed, they ultimately decided to move forward with Magneto’s origin in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. In 2006, a Emma Frost solo film was being considered with director David O. Russell in mind.

What!.. I Love Elen Page as Kitty Pryde.. But I’m hoping they make Rogue solo movie first before that.. I just wish I can see Anna Paquin in action..
And, I think having a solo movie is kinda a bad idea.. It should be 3 or 2 focus characters in a movie.. like Iceman, Kitty and Rogue for example.. having solo is boring for me.. Like what happened in X-men Origins: Wolverine…

it would be best if they introduce Rogue solo movie with Ms. Marvel.. In that way, she can gain her power..
Fox does not have the rights to use Ms. Marvel. She can NEVER appear in an X-Men movie unless the movie rights go back to Marvel Studios which is unlikely to happen as long as they are making money.
you have a point.. But i still not loosing my faith that she gain Ms. Marvel’s power someday.. 😀
The problem is she doesn’t NEED those powers to be Rogue. They no longer define who she is and the newer generation of comic fans may not necessarily understand the connection. She can still be a kick ass character if she’s written properly and so far nobody has been able to do just that. As long as Fox has the rights to X-Men, you’re never going to see her with Ms. Marvel’s abilities unless it’s some variation that she takes off someone else. I personally doubt they will ever go that route though as it doesn’t mesh with what’s happening now with the character in the comics.
