It looks like Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver and are coming to the big screen…but not in an X-Men film (yet). A scooper at Entertainment Weekly reveals that Marvel/Disney will use the characters in the sequel to THE AVENGERS.
“I’m not confirming or denying,” said Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. “The draft could change six months from now.”
It was revealed some time ago that both studios technically have rights to the characters, as long as they follow specific terms. If Marvel uses them, it’s likely they can’t be portrayed as Magneto’s children and referred to as mutants. The characters are major staples in both “Avengers” and “X-Men” comics, so having their rights split makes sense.
The situation is likely the same with Viper, a character in THE WOLVERINE who also has prominence in “Avengers” and “Captain America” stories. It’s possible that Marvel could use her as Madame Hydra with green hair.
they can’t do that.. They are one of the major characters in the X-men family. Viper is just nothing compared to them.
If Pietro and Wanda portray as not a mutant and Magneto’s children then they are not Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver..
I hope they can fix this.. What’s wrong with this people.. Why they can’t just talk about it and merge the Avenger Universe to X-mens.. they are all marvel characters so what’s the point..
Movie rights are always difficult to agree on. So Yes they can do that if the movie contract says so. Personally I belive that Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch if they are used in the second Avengers movie, will keep their origins a bit vague, perhaps leading to a team up movie between the Avengers and the X-Men in the near future. Let’s wait and see, Viper on the other hand may have no such terms in the movie contract, she is not that major a character in Captain America stories, where as a villian like the Red Skull is.
but if you look closer.. they taking away the rights of the two having not being a mutant and being children of Magneto.. I hope there still a chance that they keep that a secret to have a connection in X-men..
Realistically would saying that they are Magneto’s children have any bearing on an Avengers story? Probably not a whole lot.. maybe a bit of distrust towards them… but I doubt it. Considering Fox hasn’t used them yet, Marvel could do whatever they like with them.. and as much as an X-Men fan that I am.. I trust that Marvel Studios would do a better job with said characters than Fox would.
i just couldn’t resist to see the Decimation and M-day storyline in X-men universe..
Both studios can use them.. so even if they appear in the Avengers first, they can still do stuff with them in the X-Men universe.

Bah… who cares. The MARVEL movies have been loud, doomsday-plot movies, exchangable for the most part (exclude the really good IRON MAN 1 from that comment) with the average bad guy blowing up a city, or whatever and a hero has to stop him. I wonder how people can fall for the same plot all over and all over again. AVENGERS was the last of the batch I have seen and I have NO interest to watch any other Marvel movie, except for the X-Men films and the soon to be rebooted Fantastic Four.
Now let’s get this straight. Marvel has been making the movies they’re way. They pay attention to script and character. Something the Fox folks forgot with daredevil and this FF reboot movie already sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. The X-Men have only gotten this far when Byran works on the movies, when he has not, the films have suffered for it (Look at Last Stand). Given a choice I go with Marvel
s movies. I just hope the X-Men also come along for the ride, but FF, Spidey reboot films are all trash.
Yeah.. I love the Fantastic Four.. but apparently it’s rumoured that a black person will be playing the role of Johnny Storm. Now, I’m not racist. I like people of different colour and even have friends as such.. but Johnny Storm is NOT black. I won’t even see this movie if they can’t even stay true to the characters.. It’s like.. worse than having Jessica Alba as the Invisible Woman.
raise a glass for that Jean-Pierre.. I recently comment on that news and it appears that it’s a freaking racist comment but that’s the truth.. I know the fox want to experiment something new but.. Changing the profile of the characters specially the major one i really the worst idea of all..
