Director, Bryan Singer has tweeted this very interesting photo from the set of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. It’s Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and Nicholas Hoult (Beast) in the sub-levels of the Xavier mansion, noticeably wearing 70’s clothing. This image asks some questions: Why is Beast missing his blue fur? Is this Wolverine from the 1973 timeline, or did future Wolverine travel back in time?

ok that doesnt make any sense, wolverine didnt even join the x-men til much later, i was looking forward to this film but now that i see this, is it gonna be a sequal to 1st class/the x-men 4 all have been wantin for the last 6 years now? its becoming really confusing all of a sudden, i do not get it at all what-so-ever
I’m guessing Wolverine is the time-traveler…or the “First Class” and “X1-X3” timelines are in alternate realities. Anything can really be explained through time-travel, lol.
I would say he is the time traveler….. and why wouldn’t he be? He does everything else in the movies. It’s all about Wolverine …that still ticks me off. However, I’m still excited.
Same with me. Im getting really really tired of too much Wolverine. They have many other great x-men, I dont understand how they feel Wolverine is the only one that should have the pivotal role on all the movies, when the audience cares about ALL the x-men, not just about Logan. If that was the case, his movies would do 1 billion or so, but no, they arent doing that much money.
I thought they learnt some lessons after X3, but it seems they didnt.

Both actors are very popular with the average audience, both actors are charismatic. That’s why BOTH movie universes rely on them in such a fashion.
But you should relax. DOTFP looks like an ensemble film. Why would they get ALL the big names together to waste them in short scenes?
And don’t forget that Hugh Jackman himself stated that people might get enough of Wolverine…

Same perspective of Hugh Jackman and RDJ. The two are really into their characters and that’s why I like them.
and about the film, I still have faith that Bryan will distribute an equal amount of time for each characters.. I’m happy that Wolverine is here, but I hope he didn’t steal much of the time in the film and give way to the other. ( I’m talking about Rogue actually 😀 )

Agree on wanting to see Rogue seeing Wolverine is now a snooze fest. I am hoping this isn’t another Wolverine and Friends movie ugh!!! This image stooped my excitement back

Awesome… don’t forget that this film deals with multiple timelines, so no problem there with continuity!
Plus: Why isn’t Beast – Beast??? Did they demutate him?
Let’s say Beast transform back to his humanoid form when travelling from different timeline..
And I think or I hope this is not Wolverine thing again.. Let’s showcase the other new characters and the amazing trio (Rogue, Kitty and Iceman), which I believe Bryan Singer would love to do that too..
I think that’s Wolverine himself, He may have met the X-men before he got his memory wiped out in Origins. This is supposed to be 1973. X-men Origins Wolverine was suppoed to take place in 1978.

Yes thank you Joe, I was thinking the same thing. Not to overly analyze the picture, but Hugh/Wolverines face looks a little confused here. My best guess is that whoever the time traveler is told young Charles and young Hank to recruit Wolverine in the 70s to help them with whatever problem they are having. And it did seem like Prof X was knowledgeable on Wolvie in X1, more than just doing a mind reading, so it is possible that Xavier has been tracking him since he located him in First Class, and we know that Charles likes to keep those things to himself. And now I think I officially think I thought about this more than the people who write the comics or the movies hahaha.
I’m hoping for a lot of ’73 Charlie X, and Eric… and Mystique actually. There’s so much more to do with her character from where they left her in First Class + Jennifer Lawrence is an extraordinary actress, so the more they give her to do the better.
At the moment, we don’t really know anything though, and I’m just hoping for a bloody good movie. I won’t be pining over how much screentime my favourite character gets.
I hope wolverine is not the time traveler, or else kitty pryde fans will be disappointed.
