20th Century Fox secures Hall H at San Diego’s Comic Con from 4:15pm until 5:45pm today, with confirmed panels for THE WOLVERINE and DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is looking very likely to crash the party, and there may be updates on FANTASTIC FOUR and X-FORCE.
Updates as they come in…

Two Generations of X-Men
DAYS OF FUTURE PAST stars James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen, with director Bryan Singer hung out in Entertainment Weekly’s “digital studio” at SDCC to talk about two generations of X-Men.

Time Travel Explained
DOFP writer Simon Kinberg told media during a SDCC press conference that “Kitty [Pryde] is the one who sends someone back in time and so as people will see… Wolverine goes back in time.”
“Basically the notion is Hugh of the future is sent … his conscienceness… is sent into his younger self [and] Hugh gets to play both parts because he is ageless,” further explained director Bryan Singer.
‘Days of Future Past’ Panel
Existing in the 70’s portion of the film, Bryan Singer says that Quicksilver was always a part of the story. Actor Evan Peters said that his character “moves and talks quick and gets impatient. He’s always at an ATM, waiting for the guy in front of him to finish.”
Bryan Singer and the cast of DAYS OF FUTURE PAST took the stage. Singer told attendees that no visual effects were complete, with the film having about another month to go. Regardless, some footage was presented…in 3D, no less.
The DOFP footage shows random shots of original trilogy X-Men members. “I had a glimpse into the past.” says Xavier. Shots of Iceman, Rogue, Bishop. Xavier says “You’re going to have to do to me what I once did for you” to Wolverine. Magneto says “Side by side to end this war before it ever begins.” Wolverine is sent to the past in his own body. Stewart’s Xavier warns him “Logan, I was a very different man then. Lead me. Guide me. Be patient with me.” Logan quirks “Patience isn’t one of my strong points.” Fan Bingbing’s Blink, with special eye markings, is shown standing against a backdrop of fire. McAvoy’s Xavier yells “I don’t want your suffering. I don’t want your future!” “Please.” says Stewart’s Xavier. “We need you to hope again.”

‘The Wolverine’ panel.
*Hugh Jackman says fans will finally see Logan’s berserker rage to the max and that the character’s saving grace and Kryptonite are women. He also noted that the adamantium blades were redesigned to look closer to the Claremont/Miller comic book arc.
*Director James Mangold calls THE WOLVERINE a “tough guy” movie like “3:10 to Yuma” with more “intense” action than previous X-Men films.

Jeff Wadlow talks X-Force
Jeff Wadlow briefly spoke about writing and potentially directing X-FORCE to Cinema Blend at SDCC: “I’m pretty deep into [the script]. I have the whole story completely worked out. I’m about 20 pages into my draft. If I wasn’t promoting Kick-Ass, I would probably have a draft [already], but Kick-Ass is going to slow me down just a little.”
On which incarnation of the comic book title he’s pulling from: “Here’s the thing, I love the current run of Uncanny X-Force. I love the classic run. Part of my take was addressing this idea that X-Force can be many different things, and that’s what got the studio excited. I think the fans will be excited, too.”
THIS IS SO FREAKING COOL! Do you have a video of this?
did you record the footage? Im diying!!!!!!!!
Omg !!!! Why do they cut the film footage?! u.u
I know 🙁 The footage was in 3D so it’d probably be blurry anyways. Idk…Fox officially released the Comic Con trailer back in the X2 days, and the situations were similar (still filming, etc).
I was hoping Adan Canto would be there to officially confirm his role. Many (myself included) are assuming Sunspot at this point, but it’d be nice to know for sure.
WHERES THE FREAKING FOOTAGE! UNFAIR!!!
Well I like the cast photos, but this was nothing but a large press event. and they did not have Stan Lee there, BOOOO. They should have invided Stan to come, he and Jack Kirby created the X-Men.
Also in 2014 around the same time Days of Future Past will be released in the theaters,. Warner Brothers will be releasing Godzilla.
WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Why they didn’t asked Anna Paquin more of her role as Rogue? and did they just ignore the Gambit and Rogue relationship thingy? and did I hear just now that Anna wants to see Rogue flying in the future??
1) Fans ALWAYS ask stupid questions at these types of events. Plus, they already had said they couldn’t reveal anything about the plot.
2) They didn’t ignore the Gambit / Rogue relationship. They said something along the lines of “we’re working on it”. Leads me to believe maybe they could show up in a future solo movie together maybe?
3) She didn’t say that.. all she said is that it would be cool. She also said afterwards that it was unlikely to happen. So it probably won’t be in DOFP.
dang it! I should be there to clear everything. They did had one chance but they blew it away.. 😀
Both the Marvel and Fox presentations sound like they are people who care about the movies.
The DC/Warner Brothers presentations looked more like people who were drunk.
San Dieago Comics Con is so stupid.
New York Comics Con is much more awesome. They should go there.
