Vanity Fair recently spoke with THE WOLVERINE and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST star Hugh Jackman, who says he’s having a blast playing Wolverine…even though he knows his days playing the role are numbered.
“I am enjoying him more than ever,” he says. “It’s funny because—I don’t know if it’s because I’m older, but now whenever [I was on ‘The Wolverine’] set [director James Mangold would] go, “We will do all of your dialogue in the morning and your action in the afternoon” because you’re just naturally grumpier in the morning. I’m more comfortable generally in film than I used to be and loving it. I know that the days are numbered and there will be a time that I am finished.”
As we all know, a Wolverine sequel is in the early stages of development, with Mangold devising a treatment and speaking with producers and writers about where Logan could go next. Even with the active development, Jackman says he isn’t sure if he’ll do another one or not, as it depends on the story.
“I don’t know whether or not I will do this next movie. I am really proud of this movie and I am excited to develop something with Jim Mangold from the beginning because that is a great ride. That’s exciting, to see what we come up with but I have a very high expectation of what it would need to be [for me to star in it] and if it doesn’t reach those, I won’t be doing it.”
Do you see Hugh hanging up the claws anytime soon?
No I don’t see anymore single movies of him playin wolverine put I do see him playing lot more an the xmen up comin films as wolverine

The older he gets, the better he plays Logan imo. I really can’t picture anyone else in the role. When that day comes, it’s going to be WEIRD.
Then stop doing more Wolverine movies, Hugh.
We have had enough movies with Wolverine as the lead character. Time for the other X-Men, thats why the franchise is called ‘X-MEN’
I understand where Hugh’s coming from. THE WOLVERINE was fantastic and that was the story he wanted to tell ever since the first X-Men. Mission accomplished. Mangold is gonna have to craft an impressive storyline to get him committed to another time-consuming solo outing.

Wolverine should be put in the movie if he needed to, otherwise, he can be set aside at the moment. There are lots of characters in the x-men universe that they need to explore and not just him. Maybe this is the right time to make him a supporting character and not the main one.
Replacing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is the worst idea of all.
Seriously… Jackman is today in mucher better shape to play WOLVERINE than he was 13 years ago in X-MEN.
If you have seen the extended cut, you want to see more of him.
Let him have at least another solo movie, he does not need to appear in APOCALYPSE (or make it at least an extended cameo maybe).
But I want another Jackman/Fukushima teamup with Liev Schreiber joining in.
I do not imagine X-men Apocalypse without Wolverine. Wolvie definetly shoud be the part of the Apocalypse. He don’t have to lead, but he should have his moment. And Hugh is the wolverine.
