Director Bryan Singer confirmed today via Twitter that X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is coming to the big screen on May 27, 2016! If you didn’t notice, we discreetly hinted at Apocalypse being a “thing” an entire day in advance of this announcement in the “Wolverine is Less Reluctant to Save the World in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past'” post.
We knew he was coming, but not exactly like this!
Singer told fans at Montreal’s Fantasia Fest last August that he had plans for a Marvel Universe “mash-up” movie, and it appears that this is that very idea. One has to wonder if the Fantastic Four will be involved as well. It’s surely looking like it!
Apocalypse is easily one, if not the most powerful, foes in X-Men’s history and fans are going to be in for a real treat!

Just going to throw this out there. Cyclops as one of the four horsemen. It could fit in well as they could say that Apocalypse revived Cyclops after Phoenix killed him.

It would be best if they make X-men 4 on 2015 first..
Looks like we’ll get an X-Men related film every year ’til 2016 if X-Force, Deadpool or The Wolverine Sequel gets off the ground. Yes!!!
yeah.. lets make a petition for that. I mean, they can make X4 with just a small group of x-men characters like introducing of new mutants with Rogue, Iceman and Kitty..
DOFP is already acting as X-Men 4, just because it has the OT cast
Apocalypse will act as X-Men 5, if it will feature the OT cast again
According to Bleeding Cool (and this should be taken with a pinch of salt) Apocalypse is intended to feature the same cast as Days’. They want everyone back.
It makes me wonder if Apocalypse will might lean more heavily on the original cast, where Days’ is leaning more on the First Class cast??
Just a thought…
I think X-MEN Apocalypse will Focus on the OC as well. I think we will see the return of Jean, Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, in Addition to other characters such as Gambit.
