GAMBIT movie joins DEADPOOL and X-MEN: APOCALYPSE in 2016.

GAMBIT has been confirmed for October 7, 2016 by the film’s star, Channing Tatum on Twitter. Tatum will star as Remy LeBeau, a kinetic-energy manipulating mutant thief from New Orleans who finds himself in conflict with a rival guild of thieves. 20th Century Fox has (as of now) two other films scheduled for that year, including Tim Miller’s DEADPOOL starring Ryan Reynolds on February 12th and Bryan Singer’s X-MEN: APOCALYPSE on May 27th.

The film’s screenplay is written by “Robocop” reboot scribe Josh Zetumer and based off a treatment by Gambit comic book creator Chris Claremont. A director announcement is imminent as production will likely begin this Summer/Fall.

Tatum is proucing with his Free Association partner Reid Carolin, along with longtime “X-Men” producers Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg.
