The official X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Facebook has posted questions answered by cast members Oliver Platt (The Man in Black) and Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert).
Platt reveals who The Man In Black is with some information on the character, saying “[He] runs a super secret division of the CIA devoted to investigating the application of mental telepathy and paranormal power in military defense. He has long been a laughing stock of the Agency because of this. His department is known as ‘Division X’.”
Further explaining how the X-Men tie into his unit, he says “When Charles and Mystique become ensnared with the Agency, the Man in Black diverts them to his division with a deft bureaucratic sleight of hand. Erik soon joins them and The X-Men flourish under MIB’s protection.”
While X-MEN: THE LAST STAND character Moira MacTaggert DID have a accent (listen very carefully during her scenes), Byrne says director “Matthew Vaughn was adamant she be American – despite James McAvoy’s slight disappointment as he is Scottish.”
On her jealously of not playing a mutant Byrne says “I was not [jealous] when we were shooting as I didn’t have to get picked up at 2:30am like Jennifer Lawrence. But I am sure I will suffer post-traumatic mutant envy when I see Angel being able to fly.”
Rose Bryne’s Interview defently hints at the possibilty of First Class being prequel to Just X-Men and X2.There Is Interview with james MCavoy around today at IGN that
also hints at this.Since I conisder X2 and X-Men as the best marvel films(And yes I say better than SPider-Man and Iron Man) and 2 of the best 5 Comic Book films ever this doesn’t bother me.And It frees up some problems for X4 and X5.
i agree with Christ Roberts on he,s first post
