Actors are sometimes the last to know about their in involvement future projects; some X-MEN: APOCALYPSE cast members first found out about their casting on social media. So it makes sense that Anna Paquin was a bit uneasy when sites reported on her “no” reply as confirmation, when asked if she’ll appear as Rogue in GAMBIT. “Oh dear! That wasn’t a press release!!!,” she said. “I was asked and answered with the information that I currently have. That is all!”
Gambit’s first solo adventure is planned to begin filming early next year in Louisiana with title-star Channing Tatum. Recent script changes required an increase in the film’s budget and production scheduling changes, which led to director Rupert Wyatt exiting production as conflicts h other future commitments. The film will feature the kinetic-powered mutant Cajun in a complicated relationship with childhood friend, Bella Donna Boudreaux, a chacter who is evolves into his most personal adversary.
Paquin also tweeted that she’s not aware of future plans for Rogue, saying “That’s a [director] Bryan Singer [and producer] Lauren Shuler Donner question.”
