Possible spoilers…watch out!
Check out this weird power display (via another version of the international trailer) from Sebastian Shaw, as played by Kevin Bacon in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. We’re guessing Shaw has an explosive in his hand, releases it, and uses his powers to absorb energy from the blast? The multiple display of hands and heads is quite interesting though.
1:01 mark in the video. What do you think is going on in this scene?
How about watching the actual movie to find out?@!
I suspect Sebastian Shaw will be the originater of the helmet & later in the film Magneto will steal the helmet to avoid having Emma Frost read & take over his mind.
Me too.
Also Banshee is DEF. gonna be Syrin’s dad. Syrin was the little girl in X2 who screams when Stryker takes over the X-Mansion.
OKay that is messed up, I would expect that from Ben 10 or something.
Four arms?
If that IS a way for him to absorb the energy….its just weird!
I think his arms are “just” moving super fast to contain the blast.
But it still looks werid!
Maybe they have added another power to the character like they said.
How about no spoilers and just watch the movie….
A quick summery of Sebastian Shaw’s power explains that he can absorbed any form of kinetic energy that comes in contact with him, and this makes him have super strength, super speed super endurance, super durability and super endurance and so on and so forth. So what happens here (I’m guessing) is that he detonates, the explosive and then it explodes. Then if you observe the clip, the explosion is about to spread uncontrollably, but by that time he has already absorbed the kinetic energy from the blast and his speed has been enhanced. So what we see with the multiple hands, is in fact just him using that kinetic energy he absorbed from the grenade explosion, to move his hands at super speed to contain the blast. The multiple hands are just an visual effect that represent the super speed.
How about we search that on wiki.
There wasn;t any need for a “Quick summary’
We need spoliers to get out attention Robert!
Without it I bet half of these people commenting would believe those articlies last yr and think that X Men First Class would be bad
It looks a little odd to say the least, but I suppose they’d have to show him absorbing the explosion somehow….. Can’t say I’d have done it like this myself (unless its a new power created for the movie).
Robert, spoilers are for people like us who can’t wait for the movie (epsecially considering it’s the first X-film in a while to look half decent). Fair enough if you don’t want to be spoiled and would rather wait til the movie comes out, all credit to you for that.
Saying that though, you clicked onto this page which is clearly marked spoilers….. to do what, complain to other people for clicking on the link?? :S If you don’t wanna be spoiled, don’t click on the bits that say SPOILERS….. leave us to do as we wish!!
(Sarcastically) Thank you ‘Dan’ for summarizing my comment. I really needed my comment to be told in another form.
He still looks weird to me.
Wait……

It says that Kevin Bacon was holding a golden orb and in these pics, it shows him holding a needle time thing…
Sorry Marvel Fan, you’ve confused me? What did I ‘summarize’ exactly? I didn’t intend to copy anything you’ve said although it is bound to happen with a format like this now and again, that some of us have similar opinions.
Once again, i apologize for doing so, but was honestly just stating my own opinion. 🙂
No it was fine to have your own opinion, I thought you had not copied but summarized what I had commented. It was a tad bit of summarizing to me.
Don’t apologies, we have our own say here.
Sorry for making you fell uneasy there..!
No worries dude 🙂 I think what we both said on the Kevin Bacon clips are actually unintentionally quite similar, however our comments too a certain grumpy poster are fairy valid in there own rights 😛
Right you are once again Dan.
Nice talking to you! 🙂
I hope they post another trailer!
