Last month, KRQE News 13 showed spy footage from the Rio Rancho, New Mexico set of Hugh Jackman’s WOLVERINE: WEAPON X finale. It shows an elaborate set with a toppled water tower.
“It was really cool some of the costumes you saw people in, the strange vehicles and that kind of thing,” said local resident Donna Atwell.

Sante Fe Travelers also snapped this great photo of a firing tower set in Abiquiú, New Mexico.

Thanks to some detective work, we’ve learned that production held a quick casting call last week for kids, who filmed earlier this week in Chama, NM. There was also a shoot which involved “old, beat up cars” last Friday in New Mexico.
Production might have wrapped in the area this week, though we’re not sure. Jackman made a social media post today to thank to state of New Mexico.
The New Mexico Film Office says the production employed about 130 New Mexico crew members, two New Mexico cast members and about 600 background talent.
The film comes to theaters on March 3, 2017. Directed by James Mangold and written by Michael Green and David James Kelly, it stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Elise Neal, Eriq La Salle and Stephen Merchant, among many others.
