Dawn of the Mutant Age: Watch Comic Con 2018 trailer for season two of Fox’s THE GIFTED.

Check out the official Comic Con International 2018 trailer for THE GIFTED, which returns this Fall on Fox. Titled “Dawn of the Mutant Age,” season two hints towards the beginnings of a mutant uprising. That will be music to the ears of Polaris (Emma Dumont), who made a dramatic decision last season that divided the mutant underground forever.

During Saturday’s panel in San Diego, the cast opened up about their characters and where they’re headed.

“[Polaris is] struggling with missing Marco,” said Dumont on the mutant metal-manipulator’s relationship with Eclipse, played by Sean Teale. Their relationship is on edge as they “represent the polar sides of the political views in the show” with a baby soon to be due. “It’s terrifying and hard,” she continued. “She’s really scared about labor. Mutant labor is different, because she controls metal she doesn’t want to die.”

“I’m going to go with hot metal bending,” joked Sean Teale, when asked about mutant baby power ideas.

Stephen Moyer’s character Reed Strucker went through a roller-coaster of events in season one. By the end, things had changed for the worse. “On a deep level his destiny has been taken away from him. In order to bring the family together, he’ll delve into his father’s past to unlock who he really is,” he said.

Natalie Alyn Lind hopes her character Lauren finds a way to reconnect with brother Andy. “I think she is still trying to figure out who she is. I’d definitely love to see her figure out what’s happening with her brother and connect back with him.”

With Andy leaving, including a chunk of other Mutant Underground members, actor Blair Redford said that Thunderbird is “in a bit of a questionable place feeling like he failed the mutant branch in Atlanta. So he’s questioning himself as leader. But on a positive note he’s really hot and heavy with Blink.”

Besides having relations with Blink, Jamie Chung reveals a new role as mentor. “I think Blink in season one was just finding herself. She would always run. Now that she’s decided to put down roots and realizes Lauren needs guidance and in her awkward way she tries to provide it for her.”

The Gifted returns Tuesday, September 25 at 8PM ET/PT.
