VENOM star Tom Hardy recently appeared on German TV show Stars with Cars and was asked bluntly why he isn’t playing Wolverine, the iconic role first brought to life in live-action by Hugh Jackman for over 17 years.
“I didn’t get asked to play Wolverine,” he said. “If somebody asked me to play Wolverine, I might be playing Wolverine; but they didn’t. They did ask me to play Venom and I read the script and I thought, this is awesome.”
With Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox looming early next year, chances are very good we’ll see a new Wolverine on screen within the next decade.
Even though Hardy’s currently tied to Venom, would you be interested in him taking on the role in the future?
