Witness the emotional new trailer for director Simon Kinberg’s DARK PHOENIX.

20th Century Fox has unleashed the glorious second trailer for writer and director Simon Kinberg’s DARK PHOENIX. The truly emotional and epic trailer gives us a better look at X-Men’s magnus opus film, which is likely be the final mainline edition under 20th Century Fox before Disney’s Marvel Studios takes over the reigns in the coming months.

Here’s a clip of Jessica Chastain on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where she debuted a 30-second preview teaser:

In Dark Phoenix, The X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.

Starring Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, the film also features James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Kota Eberhardt as Selene, Andrew Stehlin as Red Lotus and Jessica Chastain as the villainous “Smith”.

Dark Phoenix arrives in theaters on June 7, 2019.
