Box Office: DARK PHOENIX suffers -72% drop in its second weekend.

In its second weekend at the domestic box office, 20th Century Fox’s DARK PHOENIX landed at the number 4 spot with $9 million from 3,721 theaters behind Men in Black International ($28.5 million), The Secret Life of Pets 2 ($23.8 million) and Aladdin ($16.7 million).

According to Box Office Mojo, the Simon Kinberg-directed film suffered a painful -72.6% drop from its opening weekend, which makes it the second largest second weekend drop ever for a film playing in over 3,500 theaters; it’s best by 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey.

The domestic total currently stands at $51.8 million.

Internationally, Dark Phoenix brought in $24.2 million ($152.5 million total), bringing its worldwide total to $204 million. The film debuted at the number 1 spot in Indonesia this weekend and will open in Japan this Friday.
