DARK PHOENIX concept artist Houston Sharp has shared various artworks via Instagram which he created for writer and director Simon Kinberg’s final X-Men film from 20th Century Fox.
They give us looks at Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) floating above Earth after being inhabited by the cosmic force and flying in space while in her final Phoenix form. The latter artwork was intended for the film’s original third act, which saw Jean flying into space to destroy incoming alien ships. It was allegedly changed because it was too reminiscent of a scene from Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel.
The last piece shows Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) battling Red Lotus (Andrew Stehlin).
