Halle Berry interested in revisiting Storm in the MCU.

Oscar winner Halle Berry did a breakdown of her film career with Vanity Fair, which includes her memories about Storm and the legendary X-MEN series. The actress turned director (Netflix’s Bruised) gives lots of love to her castmates and reveals whether she’d like to return to the role under Marvel Studios.

“More than anything, I love the family that we created there with Patrick Stewart and Ian [McKellen], and Famke [Janssen] and James, and Hugh [Jackman], who’s one of the nicest humans I think I’ve ever met in my whole life,” she said. “We really formed a bond and we were a little family for about a decade.”

What I have missed is, I miss seeing them,” she continued. I miss my friends in that way. I loved to dip in and out of Storm and the character, and I loved her evolution as well.”

Berry made it known early on that she thought Storm should have a love interest in the original films, even pushing for her and Wolverine to have a relationship.

“There were moments when we were shooting when I realized Storm and Wolverine really had an affair, and that’s really in the comic books. There’s a moment when Hugh Jackman and I got to play with that in our last movie [‘Days of Future Past’] together, and I remembered thinking ‘Wouldn’t this be an interesting turn of events, if we all of the sudden went into the Storm and Wolverine story, and we sort of unpacked what their connection was and what their relationship was?'”

After portraying the weather-manipulating mutant in four films with 20th Century Fox, is Berry interested in reprising the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe under Disney?

“I would absolutely return to it,” she said. “It’s a beloved character. I loved playing Storm, and people love Storm, so I would absolutely. You know, if we could find a version that would make sense or a storyline that would make sense, I would absolutely do that, for sure.”

With variants and the multiverse on full throttle in the MCU, fans already know how a return for any of the original cast is possible; even if Marvel Studios decides to reboot X-Men. In fact, audiences will get to experience this sooner rather than later in theaters!
