The first signs of mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe came to us in DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS, with Patrick Stewart portraying a Professor Xavier from the 838 universe. With a recent revelation from Marvel Studio head Kevin Feige that him and his team our mapping out the next decade of stories, it could be sooner rather than later when we see the MCU-proper X-Men appear on screen.
One actress who’s interested in the arrival of mutants is Scarlet Witch actress Elizabeth Olsen, whose character has major ties to the lore. In the comics, Wanda’s history with mutants is a tangled one. For a time, she was considered a mutant and the daughter of Magneto, but that history has changed throughout the years; it’s complicated.
When asked by CinemaBlend about the prospect of her character interacting with other mutants, Olsen said. “No, you just got me excited! I don’t really know what I do next after this movie. I don’t really know. I wanna know what fans want and what the ideas are. But I guess you just said it, if we’re bringing X-Men back, I’ll wanna be there,” she said enthusiastically. “I have no actual plans yet. I am very excited to talk with Kevin [Feige] about that at some point.”
