Rumors were rampant saying we’d see Deadpool make his MCU debut in Marvel Studios’ DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. Even when actor Ryan Reynolds denied it (with a smirk), fans still believed he would appear in/after the film from the multiverse hijinks. In the end, that wasn’t the case, but screenwriter Michael Waldron confirmed to ComicBook.com that Wade Wilson was discussed during the making of the film.
“Yeah, we talked about it,” he said. “I think we talked about everything in this movie. So, [it] would’ve been crazy to not raise that, but it ultimately didn’t feel like… It just didn’t feel the right place. But yeah, of course we talked about it.”
There are other places Reynolds can show up on the big or small screen, if not his own DEADPOOL 3. The highly-anticipated threequel – directed by Shawn Levy (Free Guy) and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick – is planned to move full steam ahead next year for filming.
