Pre-production on Marvel Studios’ DEADPOOL 3 is ramping up for principal photography early next year. Discussing Film reports that Ray Chan has been hired as the film’s production designer. Chan is no stranger to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having worked in the same role for Disney+’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, including some work on Avengers: Endgame during additional photography. He also served as art director on Infinity War, Doctor Strange, Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Thor: The Dark World.
Shawn Levy (Free Guy) is set to direct with original Deadpool writers Rheet Reese and Paul Wernick. Ryan Reynolds will return in the title role, along with Lelise Uggams as Blind Al. Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Zazie Beetz (Domino), Josh Brolin (Cable), and Karan Soni (Dopinder), among others, are rumored for potential returns in the MCU.
According to entertainment scooper Christopher Marc, 20th Century Studios will remain involved with the franchise in some capacity, perhaps to retain many of the elements which helped it become a success, including the R rating. It was previously revealed that Reynolds production company Maximum Effort is also involved; a first for a Marvel Studios project.
