Hugh Jackman responds to fan rumors about Taron Egerton as Wolverine in the MCU.

Longtime Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman responded to fan chatter about the possibility of his Eddie the Eagle co-star portraying the MCU version of the character. By the sounds of it, Jackman is not thinking of his replacement right now, as he’s working out, lifting weights, and eating a load of chickens for his role in Marvel Studios’ Untitled Deadpool and Wolverine Film : “Taron is one of the most talented actors out there, and you can see his range is incredible,” he told Empire Magazine. “But he’s just got to cool his heels a bit.”

Filming on Deadpool 3 begins early Summer for Jackman with Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy (Free Guy) for release next year. While some may assume he’s doing a one-time appearance, there’s much potential for him to return in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or (more likely) Avengers: Secret Wars, if not both projects; those release in 2025 and 2026, respectively.

I still think Taron Egerton is better suited as Cyclops! He’s perfect for that role. – Anthony
