Actor Channing Tatum opened up to Vanity Fair about his cancelled GAMBIT movie, which he spent years developing with producing partner Reid Carolin. Described by producer Simon Kinberg to IGN as a superhero movie with a “romantic or sex comedy vibe, it was planned to join 20th Century Fox’s growing X-Men universe. That’s before multiple directors dropped out, script issues, and studio execs pulling the plug shortly before The Walt Disney Company acquired Fox, leading to the mutant IP being under Marvel Studios’ reign.
“It got swallowed up into Disney by way of Marvel when they bought Fox, and ultimately I just think that the tone of the movie we wanted to make was very far from what they wanted to do—or, you know, maybe they’re waiting to see how they do it with us or without us,” said Tatum. “We call every once in a while, but we’ve got to spiritually, emotionally, kind of mentally let it go.”
The FoXverse cast are getting their moment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with phases four through six. Including Tatum as Gambit for at least one appearance in DEADPOOL 3 or even SECRET WARS would be nice to see, don’t you think!?

I want to see him as Gambit, but age could be a factor.
Put him in Secret Wars
