Deadline reports that Matthew Macfadyen has been cast in a undisclosed role for DEADPOOL 3. The Emmy-winning actor is best known for his work as Tom on HBO’s critically acclaimed ‘Succession’ series. While we don’t know who he’s portraying just yet, movie scooper Grace Randolph teases she’s hearing his role “is quite big!” We’ve also heard he’s sort of a “third wheel” for Deadpool and Wolverine. Some fans think he’s playing Deadpool’s friend/sidekick Bob, who in the comics is an agent of Hydra; the character actually made a brief cameo in the first film.

In other casting news, let’s celebrate! Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams are officially signed to come back as Dopinder and Blind Al, respectively. With Macfadyen, Soni and Uggams joining Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Emma Corrin, the cast is filling out quite nicely so far! Who’s next, and which FoXverse X-Men are joining Wolverine!? We’re hearing there should be a couple, at least!

Deadpool 3 begins filming this May in Vancouver and London through October with director (and producer) Shawn Levy for a November 8, 2024 theatrical release. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick return, with Zeb Wells (She Hulk, Ms. Marvel). Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux of Fox’s Bob’s Burgers penned an early draft.
