Is Famke Janssen expecting a return as Jean Grey in the MCU? “Who knows?”

We haven’t seen Famke Janssen as Jean Grey since 2014 with her cameo in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), but fans wonder if the opportunity will arrive with Marvel Studios exploring the multiverse in Phase Five and beyond. We’ve already been treated to an MCU appearance from Patrick Stewart as Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and next year will see the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in Deadpool 3.

Speaking with CinemaBlend while promoting her upcoming film Knights of the Zodiac, Janssen was asked if we’ll see her appear as her popular FoXverse character in the MCU. Sounding open to the idea, but unsure of the opportunity, she said:

“Um, you know, I played Jean Grey [and] Phoenix five times. It has been an incredible journey. It has given me the most amazing opportunities over time. So, who knows? Is that chapter done? Potentially. Is there an opening? Who knows? I just look forward and I don’t really look back. I just enjoy new opportunities in my life.”

Rumors have pointed to Janssen and the rest of the OG cast returning for AVENGERS: SECRET WARS in 2026, with a couple others (potentially even from the next gen cast) making appearances in DP3.
