the SUPER🦸 — Exciting development on Warner Bros. SUPERMAN: LEGACY, as The Hollywood Reporter reveals that David Corenswet (Pearl) and Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) have been cast as the DCU’s Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, respectively. “Accurate!” tweeted writer and director, James Gunn. “They are not only both incredible actors, but also wonderful people.”
Actors Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Dark Phoenix) and Tom Britteney (Greyhound) were also in the running for Superman, with Emma Mackey (Sex Education) and Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton) testing for Lois. Gunn and co-chair Peter Safran had them all dress in full costume and makeup, with Corenswet and Brosnahan taking home the prize!
‘Superman: Legacy’ is slated for theatrical release on July 11, 2025. It’s one of the many projects announced for DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. They include films The Authority, The Brave and the Bold, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Swamp Thing, and streaming shows Creature Commandos, Waller, Booster Gold, Lanterns, and Paradise Lost.
