Appearing on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, LOGAN director James Mangold talked (18:01 mark) about Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine in DEADPOOL 3: “It’s not like the new movie Hugh and Ryan [Reynolds] are working on takes place after ‘Logan,’ so in a sense they’re just making a prequel, if you will.” He also shared (20:02 mark) how far along the LAURA spin-off film with Dafne Keen was in development before Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, canceling various X-Men projects like GAMBIT and new trilogies for X-MEN and THE NEW MUTANTS: “I never had a script, I started working on a story; but I don’t think of that as a universe – I just loved the character.”
