DEADPOOL 3 To Resume Filming Soon As 118-Day SAG-AFTRA Strike Ends

The SAG-AFTRA strike is over! You can read details about the tetative agreement here. Actors are now free to film and promote their projects, which means DEADPOOL 3 is preparing to kick things back into gear. Deadline reports that director Shawn Levy‘s film is among other Hollywood productions that are planning to go back into production this week or in the very near future.

Filming with Ryan Reynolds and Wolverine savant Hugh Jackman was about 50% complete before principal photography halted July 14 at Pinewood Studios in Iver, England.

The top-tier May 3, 2024 release date was reported as being off the table week ago, but never actually confirmed directly by Marvel Studios. Marvel/Disney could financially push to get it done in time, but given the almost 4 month production delay, and VFX artists’ mental health, a swap with CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD on July 26, 2024 isn’t out of the question.
