A couple weeks ago, Famke Janssen seemingly ended rumors of her Jean Grey returning in Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine. “No. Everybody keeps asking,” she told ScreenGeek during an interview. “So, at some point, I was like, ‘Wait, am I in Deadpool, and I just don’t know it yet?’ But, no. I’m not. No, no.”
This time, ComicBook asked her a similar question, to which she seemed more open to the possibility of finding her way back to the role. “I don’t know,” she reiterated. “I mean, I didn’t expect to come back after dying as Jean Grey. I came back as the Phoenix, and I came back in flashback scenes in The Wolverine, and then in Days of Future Past.”
Janssen said that each time she came back to the role,” [they] were all surprises that I never anticipated. I don’t know. I doubt it, but you never know.”
Still sounds like there’s doubt on her part, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see her in the upcoming Avengers films, particularly Secret Wars, which concludes The Multiverse Saga. There’s also rumors spreading that Marvel Studios is developing an X-Men film that would come out before that big event film.
We’ll have to wait and see how it all pans out.
