Marvel Studios returned to Hall H at this year’s Comic Con International in San Diego to announce that the Russo Bros. (Captan America: Winter Solider, Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War & Endgame) are officially returning to direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
In a surprising turn of events, longtime Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. will return to the MCU as Victor Von Doom aka Doctor Doom. Whether he’s a Tony Stark variant or a completly original take remains to be seen.
So it looks like Doctor Doom will be the main villain of the Multiverse Saga of Kang. Both films are expected to be filmed back-to-back and rumor is there will be X-Men involved, at least with Secret Wars.
Avengers: Doomsday is slated for theatrical release on May 1, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars arriving on May 7, 2026.
