Speaking with The Telegraph, actor Alan Cumming briefly talked about his return as Nightcrawler in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Avengers: Doomsday event film. Cumming revealed that he’s performing some of his own stunt, much to the surprise of the film’s stunt team.
“I’ve been doing stunts the past couple of days, I’m pretty fit,” he said. “The stunt boys I’m working with, who could easily be my children, are all gobsmacked I can even walk. They’re like, ‘Are you OK? You’re really limber.’ When I told them I was 60, they were like, ‘What?!'”
Joining Cumming are X-Men vets Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Rebecca Romijn Mystique, and Kelsey Grammer as Beast. Deadpool & Wolverine actor Channing Tatum is also returning; more than likely as Gambit, though with the multiverse, who knows.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026.
