Beast Actor Kelsey Grammer Says He Hasn’t Read AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Script

Fans were eXcited to learn that Kelsey Grammer will return to his role as Beast in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, which is now in production at Pinewood Studios. The X-Men: The Last Stand/ The Marvels actor revealed on the Literally! with Rob Lowe podcast that he’s yet to read a script, even with filming underway.

“I’ve had a preliminary introduction to the idea, he said. “They are still very secretive about the script.”

It seems common for MCU cast members to only get portions of a script involving their characters, instead of a full screenplay. It wouldn’t be surprising if Robert Downey Jr (the film’s antagonist/lead) is the only actor to have access to it in full; even with it reportedly being rewritten and evolving over the course of principal photography.

Joining Grammer are X-Men vets Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler. Actor Channing Tatum will also return, most likely as the Gambit from Deadpool & Wolverine; although with the multiverse, anything’s possible.

Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on May 2, 2026.
