Fans of Twisted Metal were in for a wild ride at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, as the cast and creators of the hit Peacock series took over Ballroom 20 with a thrilling first look at the upcoming second season. With the first three episodes set to debut July 31, excitement filled the room as executive producers Michael Jonathan Smith and Asad Qizilbash, along with stars Anthony Mackie (who also serves as executive producer), Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, and Anthony Carrigan, hit the stage to tease what’s ahead.

The panel showcased high-octane clips from the new season and offered attendees a glimpse at the escalating chaos, fresh characters, and deeper character arcs that await in Season 2. One major highlight: the reveal that John and Quiet are now contestants in the notorious Twisted Metal tournament, which is a lethal demolition derby presided over by the mysterious Calypso.

But the action didn’t stop inside the panel. Afterward, the cast hit the Twisted Metal Bumper Battle activation, an immersive experience where iconic vehicles from the series were reimagined as bumper cars. Mackie and Beatriz surprised fans on-site by handing out PlayStation 5 consoles to a few lucky participants. Also in attendance were cast members Mike Mitchell (Stu), Saylor Bell Curda (Mayhem), Patty Guggenheim (Raven), and Tiana Okoye (Dollface), all joining in the Calypso-style madness.

Season 2 picks up after the dramatic finale of Season 1, with John and Quiet entering Calypso’s deadly Twisted Metal tournament. As they face a brutal mix of new enemies and returning threats, most notably the homicidal clown Sweet Tooth, John’s past resurfaces in the form of a shocking reunion with his sister, now the masked vigilante known as Dollface.

The second season is once again helmed by showrunner and executive producer Michael Jonathan Smith. Additional executive producers include Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Will Arnett, Marc Forman, Anthony Mackie, Jason Spire, Grant Dekernion, Peter Principato, and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan. Hermen Hulst of Sony Interactive Entertainment also returns as an executive producer.

Episodes are directed by Phil Sgriccia, Bill Benz, Iain MacDonald, and Bertie Ellwood.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, and Universal Television, the series blends explosive action with offbeat comedy in its unique, post-apocalyptic world.

Twisted Metal Season 2 arrives July 31 on Peacock, kicking off with a three-episode drop. New episodes will follow every Thursday through August 28.
