X-Men Films And Superhero Entertainment News — Trailers, Industry Coverage, Reviews, Original Comics: SUPER (2025-), Mutant Fandom And More

The legendary cult antihero returned in full force at San Diego Comic-Con, as The Toxic Avenger brought radioactive energy to Hall H on July 24. Attendees were treated to a wild and entertaining panel featuring writer-director Macon Blair, Troma co-founder Lloyd Kaufman, and cast members Peter Dinklage (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay, and Taylour Paige. The discussion was led by IMDb’s Head of Programming, Bret Federigan, who guided the conversation through behind-the-scenes stories, character insights, and the legacy of Toxie.

But the excitement didn’t end at the panel. That same evening, attendees were invited to an exclusive Comic-Con premiere screening of the film at Digital Gym Cinema, followed by an afterparty at the Gaslamplighter Karaoke Cocktail Bar.

Directed and written by Macon Blair, and produced by Legendary Entertainment, this reimagining of The Toxic Avenger pays homage to Lloyd Kaufman’s original cult classic while bringing a fresh take to a new generation. The film stars Peter Dinklage as Winston Gooze, a lowly janitor who is accidentally exposed to a life-altering toxic spill. The result? A grotesquely mutated vigilante who sets out to take down the corrupt elites endangering his family, friends, and hometown.

With a powerhouse cast that also includes Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, Taylour Paige, Jane Levy, and Jacob Tremblay, the film blends outrageous action, dark comedy, and biting social commentary, proving that justice, in this case, is best delivered with a radioactive punch.

The Toxic Avenger is distributed by Cineverse and is poised to shock, entertain, and inspire a whole new audience.
