Speaking with Deadline, actor Channing Tatum briefly talked about Marvel Studios’ upcoming Avengers: Doomsday juggernaut. “Everyone in the world is gonna see this movie,” he said. “It’s hard to say this, because I think people…you hear these things, and you’re like, yeah, of course, but they’ve topped themselves every time. And this will be the biggest movie of next year, or maybe even the next ten years.”
Starts at the 25:00 minute mark…
Tatum said the scope of what the Russo Bros “cooked up” is one for the ages. “When I read it, I was like, ‘Well, how are they going to do this?’ Like, I don’t understand how it’s gonna happen. It was an Everest of a moutain to climb. I am still in awe. Obviously, I haven’t seen anything, we just wrapped. But the stuff we were doing is so much fun.”
Referencing an injury he sustained on set, Tatum said “I did get hurt, I popped two tendons in my hamstring. It was during an action sequence, but I did get to go back and do my part. And I did get to be able to fulfill the thing I wanted to do. But I do so much action in this movie, that was just a small part. So I’m very happy with how Gambit is going.”
Tatum joins original X-Men vets Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, and Kelsey Grammer as Beast in the film.
The worlds of X-Men, the Avengers*, Black Panther, and The Fantastic Four collide in the Russo Brothers’ highly-anticipated return to the MCU.
