It’s official! tickets for Mortal Kombat II are now on sale, and fans of the iconic fighting franchise have a lot to be excited about. To mark the moment, Warner Bros. has dropped a brand-new promotional trailer, giving audiences a fresh look at the brutal, high-stakes action that awaits when the film hits theaters and IMAX on May 8.

This latest installment raises the stakes in a big way. The story brings back beloved champions from the previous film and throws them into an even deadlier conflict. This time, they’re joined by none other than Johnny Cage, adding his signature flair and attitude to the fight. Together, the warriors must face a relentless and violent showdown against the forces of Shao Kahn, whose growing power threatens not just individuals, but the very survival of Earthrealm itself.

Leading the charge is Karl Urban stepping into the role of Cage, alongside a strong returning and new ensemble cast including Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, and Damon Herriman. Fans will also recognize Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han, and Hiroyuki Sanada reprising his role as Hanzo Hasashi, better known as Scorpion.

Behind the camera, director Simon McQuoid returns after helming the 2021 film. The screenplay comes from Jeremy Slater and continues to draw inspiration from the legendary video game series created by Ed Boon and John Tobias.

Mortal Kombat II is set for a global rollout beginning internationally on May 6, 2026, before arriving in North American theaters and IMAX on May 8.

With tickets officially available, the countdown has begun. If the footage is any indication, this sequel is leaning fully into the franchise’s signature style with bigger fights, higher stakes, and absolutely no mercy!
