Released in 2023, Phoenix captures the look and feel of Fox’s X-Men films while telling an intimate story centered on Jean Grey. The short follows Jean as she returns to her childhood home to confront her father, John Grey. As tensions rise, Professor X and the X-Men arrive, setting the stage for an emotional conflict that longtime fans of the Phoenix Saga will immediately recognize.
Kolby Jacobs leads the cast as Jean Grey alongside Brian Villalobos as Professor X and Topaz McGarrigle as John Grey. They are joined by Zack Scott as Wolverine, Gohe Tekeste as Storm, Zach Attwood as Cyclops, and Vincent Acevedo Jr. as Pyro, rounding out a recognizable lineup of iconic X-Men characters.
Behind the camera, William Magnuson and Max Perkins serve as directors, writers, and producers, with Perkins also handling cinematography and editing. The production team includes Jonathan Dryden-Jaffe as assistant camera, Ethan Salinas as gaffer, Jason Vines providing special effects makeup, Charlie Rall and Michael Scott Bamford as key grips, Chris Cheek and Kenzie Slottow as sound recordists, Joseph Fassiotto, Finn Corbett, and Ryan Raymond as production assistants, Alex Grey as the behind-the-scenes photographer, Chris Lacayo as colorist, and Lily Perkins as title designer.
