Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have released the film’s first 10 minutes now streaming exclusively through IGN ahead of its home release. The extended opening offers a taste of the sequel’s brutal action and bloody fatalities before the film arrives on digital platforms on June 9, followed by its 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release on July 28.
In Mortal Kombat II, Earthrealm’s fan-favorite champions return for an even deadlier showdown. This time, they’re joined by the legendary Johnny Cage as they face the ruthless rule of Shao Kahn in a no-holds-barred battle that will determine the fate of Earthrealm and its defenders. The sequel raises the stakes with bigger fights, more iconic characters, and the over-the-top violence fans expect from the franchise.
The film stars Karl Urban as Johnny Cage alongside Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han, and Hiroyuki Sanada, who returns as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion. Director Simon McQuoid returns to helm the sequel from a screenplay by Jeremy Slater, based on the iconic video game series created by Ed Boon and John Tobias.
