Actress Sophie Thatcher has addressed the growing fan interest in seeing her join Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot, revealing that she would be open to taking on a role if the project is the right fit.

During a recent interview with Josh Horowitz, Thatcher was asked about fans casting her as characters such as Rogue in the highly anticipated reboot.

Thatcher’s comments about the X-Men begin at the 00:50:06 mark of the interview.

“I’m open, if it’s a director that’s down to collaborate and listen to me,” Thatcher said. “I want to have a voice. I know that’s absolutely possible and people do that all the time, but I would just want to make sure it’s the right story being told, especially if it’s such a huge franchise. It has such an impact, and I want to make sure it’s the right story and it’s, you know, not just spreading violence and shock value, but something meaningful.”

Horowitz also asked whether the X-Men held any personal significance for her growing up, including whether she had watched the classic animated series. Thatcher admitted she isn’t very familiar with the franchise, jokingly replying, “It’s the blue people? There’s my answer. So, I’m going to get a lot of hate on that one. Like Jennifer Lawrence in blue.”

Despite her limited knowledge of the X-Men universe, Thatcher made it clear that she would welcome the opportunity to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe if the right role came along.

“I’m open. Yes. Always. I’m open to anything.”
