Sony has released a brand-new behind-the-scenes featurette for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, showing how the creative team brought Spider-Man’s latest costume to life. The video explores the inspirations behind the new suit, showcasing the design process and the careful attention paid to creating a look that reflects Peter Parker’s next chapter on the big screen.

The featurette highlights how the filmmakers wanted the costume to represent a fresh start for Peter following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. From its classic comic book influences to the modern updates tailored for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the new suit serves as a symbol of the hero’s evolution as he continues his journey alone in a world that no longer remembers who he is.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows Peter Parker as he fights crime full-time as Spider-Man while navigating life in a world that has forgotten his existence. As Peter watches his former friends move forward without him, the pressure begins to take its toll, sparking a change he may not have the power to control. That transformation could prove to be the key to stopping a mysterious new threatβ€”a powerful villain that no one can even see.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is based on the Marvel comic book created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Rachel O’Connor, with Louis D’Esposito and David Cain serving as executive producers.

The cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo. Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings exclusively into theaters on July 29.
