The X-Men Will Return In X-MEN ‘97 Season Two — New Character Promo Videos

Marvel has released new promo videos highlighting the main cast of Marvel Animation’s X-Men ‘97 season two. As of this posting, there are videos featuring Magneto, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Cyclops, and Storm.

Season 2 picks up after the X-Men were displaced throughout history. Some heroes find themselves in ancient Egypt during the rise of Apocalypse, while others are stranded in a distant future. As the mutants struggle to reunite, Apocalypse emerges as the season’s central villain, threatening multiple timelines and forcing the X-Men into one of their biggest battles yet.

Returning voice actors include Ross Marquand as Professor X, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Lenore Zann as Rogue, and George Buza as Beast.

The creative team remains a mix of returning talent and new contributors. Jake Castorena returns as supervising director, continuing to oversee the series’ visual style and overall storytelling approach, while writers including JB Ballard, Bailey Moore, Antony Sellitti, Brian Ford Sullivan, and Mariah Wilson contribute to the season’s scripts. Directors Chase Conley and Emi Yonemura are also back to direct episodes.  

The production team also includes executive producers Kevin Feige, Brad Winderbaum, Louis D’Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Julia Lewald, Eric Lewald, and Larry Houston. Although Beau DeMayo completed much of the season’s early story work before leaving the series, later development and future seasons shifted to Matthew Chauncey.

X-Men ‘97 arrives next week on Wednesday, July 1 with a three-episode premiere on Disney Plus.
