Coming Soon recently spoke with Fox Filmed Entertainment co-chairman and Chief Executive Officer Tom Rothman, who briefly mentioned the developing X-MEN: FIRST CLASS sequel:
Both [X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES] were really great scripts and so we have to be sure to get great scripts again [on the sequels],” Rothman said. “We’re working hard on the scripts for both of them, but we have every hope of moving forward with them.”
Rothman also confirmed that the studio is hoping to get director Matthew Vaughn back on board, though official talks won’t likely begin until there’s an initial script in place.
Hope they take their time and make sure it is a really good story and gets more involved with the characters. Hope they concentrate on Charles, Professor X, A LOT MORE. We really did not see much of him in the other films and First Class concentrated on Erik becoming Magneto quite a lot. I would rather have them take the time to make the sequel totally awesome and not speed through making it and have it turn to crap.
I agree. They really need to make sure the script is perfect. Xavier should get a good role. I really want them to bring in a movieverse version of Onslaught to play around and challenge his character.
hey hey hey what are rogthman talking about of Matthew Vaughn of course he is in infact i remember that he is checking about the president of united stated that,s why but Vaughn of course he is in on the movie of X-men: FC (First class) why not and this person is amazing Mr rothman of course we accepted ocurse
The first one was a really good film, but it was clear to me that a lot of the scrapped Magneto film had been integrated into First Class and therefore didn’t focus an awful lot on anything else.
I’d like a little more history for Xavier, and just a few more nods to the fans…… I know I’ve said it before, But Mystique + Azeazal, On the same team….. They could Atleast mention Nightcrawler 😛
