Comic Con: HBO Max Bringing LANTERNS Training Headquarters Experience And Hall H Panel To SDCC

HBO Max is bringing the power of the Green Lantern Corps to Comic-Con International in San Diego this Summer with an immersive fan experience and a special Hall H presentation celebrating the upcoming DC Studios series Lanterns.

Launching Thursday, July 23, HBO Max will transform Venue 808 into the “Lanterns Training Headquarters,” giving fans the chance to test their courage and prove they have what it takes to join the Green Lantern Corps. Inspired by the fictional town of Rushville, Nebraska, the interactive activation will take fans through a guided training journey designed to determine whether they are worthy of wielding a Green Lantern ring.

During the experience, recruits will receive a mission briefing from the Guardians before facing a series of hands-on challenges, including target practice, trust-based trials, maze navigation, and escape-room-style mysteries set inside locations inspired by the world of Lanterns, including a Sheriff’s office and a dive bar.

After completing their training, participants will receive a custom Green Lantern ring to take home and will have the opportunity to use a Snapchat-powered interactive mirror to simulate the experience of wielding the iconic ring. Fans will also be able to purchase exclusive merch.

Reservations for the Lanterns Training Headquarters experience opens Monday, July 13 at 9:00 a.m. PT at hbomax.com/lanternstraininghq. Spots are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests must be 18 years or older to participate.

In addition to the main activation, HBO Max will partner with local Gaslamp District businesses for surprise swag giveaways and will offer a Lanterns Recharge Station, where fans can cool off and recharge their phones using Lantern Battery-themed charging stations.

Lanterns Takes Over Hall H

The excitement continues Friday, July 24, when HBO Max brings Lanterns to Hall H at the San Diego Convention Center from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The panel will feature stars Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre, alongside Garret Dillahunt and Poorna Jagannathan. They will be joined by co-creators Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King for a deep dive into the upcoming series.

Fans attending the Hall H presentation can expect an exclusive first look featuring never-before-seen footage, along with behind-the-scenes details about bringing the Green Lantern mythos to life.

Lanterns premieres August 16 on HBO Max and is produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television. The series follows new Green Lantern recruits Hal Jordan and John Stewart as they investigate a mystery that takes them deep into the heart of America while uncovering threats connected to the larger DC Universe.
