Could Lana Condor make a return as Jubilee in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
The actress, who played Jubilation Lee/Jubilee in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, has made it clear that she would love the opportunity to reprise the role under Marvel Studios.
Speaking with The Direct, Condor addressed the possibility of returning as Jubilee and revealed that she has already expressed her interest to the filmmakers at Marvel Studios. We assume she’s referring to the Russo brothers, but she could also be referring directly to Jake Schreier, who’s in the thick of casting his X-Men reboot.
“I would love nothing more than to come back as Jubilation Lee. That’s all I’ve been hearing, but no real conversations… I’ve talked to the filmmakers and been like, ‘Hey, listen, I’m 10 years older now. I know more. Bring me back.’ So we’ll see.”
Her comments are sure to fuel speculation among fans, particularly as Marvel Studios continues developing its long-awaited mutant franchise due in 2028 after Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
For now, Condor’s comments remain just that: an expression of interest rather than confirmation of her involvement. But considering Jubilee’s popularity among X-Men fans, and Condor’s apparent willingness to campaign for her return, it certainly sounds like the actress would be ready to put the yellow jacket back on if Marvel comes a-calling.
