CAPTAIN ZERO: INTO THE ABYSS dives deep into the story of Xerxes Hughes, a social-media-obsessed teenage superhero battling more than the dangers threatening his city.
Part I was released in 2022, and Part II arrived on September 14, continuing the journey with an impressive voice cast featuring Keith David, Angelica Ross, Zolee Griggs, Z Cher-Aimé, Coty Galloway, Marion Toro, and Jazz Walker.
Created by Haitian-American Director, Writer, Artist, and Producer Z Cher-Aimé, Captain Zero is the flagship project of Cutting Edge Animation, an American animation studio founded in 2015. The studio develops and produces animated television programming, feature films, and short films.
At the heart of Captain Zero is Xerxes Hughes, whose mysterious blackouts force him to confront a very personal enemy: his “depression demon,” a physical manifestation of his deepest insecurities. As Xerxes struggles to understand what is happening to him, he must find the strength to save his city, and ultimately, himself.
These animated shorts offer an exciting chapter in a bold animated story centered on superheroes, and the challenges of growing up.
