Christopher Abbott may be playing one of the most important characters in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot, but the actor says he still hasn’t read anything from the film. In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Abbott addressed his casting as Professor X and admitted that, despite being attached to the highly anticipated project, he has yet to see a script or any of the material.
“I’m not even being coy, it’s true, I haven’t read anything,” Abbott said. While the lack of details may leave fans wondering exactly how much Abbott knows about the film, the actor made it clear that he is excited about what lies ahead.
Abbott specifically praised director Jake Schreier, who is set to helm Marvel Studios’ new take on the X-Men. “But I’m excited to work with Jake Schreier, I think he’s a great director and that cast is really, really good.”
Most importantly, Abbott made it clear that he is approaching the role with genuine affection for the franchise. “Yeah, I can’t wait, I love the X-Men.”
