Chances are high that producers will try to snag Japanese actor Ken Watanabe for a role in the Hugh Jackman-starring THE WOLVERINE. Fox CEO Tom Rothman recently said “[they’ll] start casting in the next month or so. There’ll be a lot of local Japanese talent in it.” If hired, Watanabe would likely be up for the role of Wolverine’s girlfriend, Yukio’s vicious crimelord father or the deadly Silver Samurai. Production is prepping for filming in Australia, Japan, and the USA.

Ken Watanabe? Good choice. I would certainly want to have him in there.
I really liked his performance in THE LAST SAMURAI, BATMAN BEGINS and INCEPTION.
