E! News caught up with X-MEN film alum Sir Patrick Stewart at the Peabody Awards yesterday in NYC. The original ‘Professor X’ commented on whether he’d be interested in playing the role again:
“[STAR TREK and X-MEN] played an important and delightful part in my career and life,” he told the site, “and I would always be happy to return to them.”
Stewart joins fellow cast members Halle Berry, James Marsden, Anna Paquin and Shawn Ashmore who’ve expressed interest in continuing with their characters.
Would you like to see him return as Xavier in a post-X3 tale or cameo in the upcoming FIRST CLASS/ WOLVERINE sequels?

And also Wolverine. I feel like a cameo there would explain a lot of my unanswered questions.
I don’t want to see ANYONE replace the characters they used before in the past films.. It’d just ruin it! No one can replace Patrick Stewart. No one can replace Mystique, Jean, Storm or anyone.

I REALLY DON”T GET IT AT ALL.. Shawn Ashmore, Patrick Stewart, Anna Paquin, Ian McKellen, James Marsden and the other cast are willing to join the X-men again. Why they can’t see the fact that we all want X4!

I totally agree! We need X-Men 4. I don’t understand the hold up! Patrick, Halle, James, Anna, and more have said they would return! What the heck is the hold up?

Yeh, but who knows maybe she thought that Phoenix is already dead, so she has no interest at all.

The biggest mistake THE AVENGERS did, was not to take ANY CHANCES whatsoever… you know how that movie would have rocked, if they killed one of the main characters… The Capt’m or Thor for example (both extremely boring). Now that would have had impact.
One of the many aspects I absolutely LOVE about THE LAST STAND where the death scenes… three main characters!!! That’s drama, that’s surprise, that’s unexpected. I remember leaving the theater completely overthrown of the ingenious film I had seen.
Cameo, yes – Return: No. At least not for Cyclops and Jean… let them be part of FIRST CLASS 3.
Dude, they can’t kill any main character in the first part of the movie, that’s why Agent Coulson did the job.
About the X-men, yeah.. for somehow I understand your part about Cyclops and Jean.
I understand your point too, but come on, they are the real hard core mutants and they did have a unfair death…
James killed his own character off for crossing to DC and Famke didn’t kill he character coz Jean’s death was ment to be, although I do think that Brett could’ve let her live. And in no doubt, Jean will return (phoenix!) and Yeah atm i don’t want James to return…
BTW Don’t diss Avengers bro. Come on, thats a bloody effing epic movie and they can’t kill one of thier main characters as this was the ‘joining together after many several movies’ so you can’t really say that one of them should’ve died :/
Dahhh for that small word the word “dahh” it means he is got to be in the movie on the fourth movie of X-men 4 he is definetly in no debut and also lets not forget Mr Ian Mcellen please
well it’s clear now that we can’t have Professor X in an X-film without it being played by Sir Knight Patrick Stewart, unless he’s being played as young Charles by James McAvoy, so I’d definitaly want to see him reprise the role!
If Famke doesn’t want to come back, I’m not surprised. Brett Ratner butchered The Dark Phoenix Saga. Too bad we didn’t get to see Bryan SInger’s take on X3. He annoyed the studio when he switched to Superman Returns, and the Phoenix paid the price. I loved Singer’s take on her: the not so subtle nod to Jean’s destiny (the phoenix insignia on the back of her long coat), the fire in her eyes, and her selfless sacrifice at the end of X2. I hated The Last Stand. No fire, nothing. All Jean did was stand around and stare blankly. She used her powers a total of 5 times during the movie. The best scene was when she killed Xavier. I’d like to call do-over, and see all of them come back and do DP Saga the way it should have been done. Don’t mind me. I know that’s not gonna happen. I stopped believing in miracles a long time ago.
